Maple and what….Bacon? Seriously?
Yes oh yes oh yes!
It is with much pleasure that I introduce you to a version of one of Gayle King’s favorite cupcakes: Maple Bacon. I tasted the interesting concoction and it all makes sense to me now. Simply put, Gayle, Oprah’s personal confidant and trusted friend, has excellent taste. The combination of sweet and savory flavors is unequivocally complimentary – most likely indicative of their wonderful relationship as friends.
For a vegan option, substitute Morningstar Farms veggie bacon, Miyoko’s vegan butter, and flax eggs. Similar to classic onscreen combinations such as Laverne & Shirley, Lucille & Desi, Sonny & Cher, Abbott & Costello, who knew combining breakfast and dessert would work so well!
